UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has been tapped to take on James Irvin in a light-heavyweight bout on a special UFC card on July 19 that will air free on Spike TV.
This special was quickly put together to counter the star-studded "Affliction: Banned" card, which features a main event between the two best heavyweights in the world not under UFC contract, Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Sylvia. The UFC is hoping that fans will tune into this free event on Spike TV instead of spending $39.95 for the "Affliction: Banned" pay-per-view.
