Gus Johnson, a veteran play-by-play announcer for CBS, will call the action for the CBS-EliteXC "Primetime" event on May 31.
Johnson is most known for handling the play-by-play announcing duties for CBS Sports' NCAA Men's Basketball coverage, which he has done since 1995. His other credits include the 1998 Olympic Winter Games and NFL on CBS broadcasts.
Johnson will round out the broadcast team consisting of former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion Frank Shamrock (color commentator), EliteXC and ShoXC play-by-play announcer Mauro Ranallo, and Showtime Boxing reporter Karyn Bryant.
"Primetime" airs live on CBS from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey at 9pm ET. The event will be the first of four 2-hour EliteXC specials on CBS in 2007.
