Carina Damm tests positive for nandrolone

Carina Damm has tested positive for Nandrolone, an anabolic steroid, following her armbar-submission win at a "Fatal Femmes Fighting" event on April 3.

Damm has been suspended one full year and fined $2,500 by the California State Athletic Commission.

Damm's testing was conducted at Quest Diagnostics and at a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) certified lab in Quebec, Canada. Damm's nanogram count was 37.9 ng/mL, which dramatically trumps the limit of 2 ng/mL.

This is a major setback for Damm (9-3), who is riding a four-fight winning streak. Additionally, she was scheduled to make her EliteXC debut on June 27 against the returning Debi Purcell.
