Hector Lombad signs with EliteXC

Hector Lombard, who would have faced Karo Parisyan at UFC 78: Validation if it weren't for visa issues, has signed with EliteXC, the promotion announced today.

"I am delighted to make it official that Hector has signed with us," said EliteXC President Gary Shaw. "He is an elite athlete, no doubt about that, and he was very sought-after, so for us, this is a very strong acquisition."

Lombard (15-2-1) made a name for himself in the Australian circuit after relocating from his birth country of Cuba, where became a Judo Olympian in 2000.

Lombard competed for PRIDE Bushido twice, suffering his only careers losses in unanimous decisions to Gegard Mousasi and Akihiro Gono.
