Brock Lesnar, the NCAA wrestler turned WWE wrestler turned UFC fighter, explained in an interview on The Fight Network why he quit professional wrestling:
Basically, Lesnar's explanation is that living the life of a mixed martial arts fighter is a much safer, healthier lifestyle than the life of a professional wrestler.
"I just looked around the locker room and didn't want to be one of those guys who was in the business for 20 years an didn't remember half my life," Lesnar said. "I wanted to be there for my daughter's birthdays. It's a lonely business. Get in to get out, that's what I wanted to do. I didn't want to be one of those guys who ended up dead in Florida some place."
