The average American has no clue who Fedor Emelianenko is, and even the average American MMA fan probably only knows who he is from DVDs and Internet videos, not from actually having watched him fight live. But he'll be fighting live on American TV on New Year's Eve:
There are three problems, though:
1. He's fighting a guy named Choi Hong-man, who has only a slightly better chance of beating Fedor than I do.
2. The fight is on HDNet, which most Americans don't have.
3. The show starts at 6 a.m. Eastern on New Year's Eve, which is not exactly a time that a lot of people will be awake and in front of the TV.
I do plan to be awake and in front of the TV, and I'll keep you posted on what kind of show Fedor puts on.
