UFC 75: Preview and Predictions

Before Quinton "Rampage" Jackson fought Chuck Liddell at UFC 71, it was announced that the winner would take on Dan Henderson, the Pride light heavyweight champion.

UFC no doubt hoped that meant Liddell, the sport's biggest star, would fight Henderson, one of Pride's best fighters. But when Jackson knocked out Liddell in the first round, that plan changed, and it set up the big fight that will be the main event of this weekend's UFC 75. Here are the details:

What: UFC 75: Champion vs. Champion

Who:
In addition to the Jackson-Henderson main event, other fights on the main card are Matt Hamill vs. Michael Bisping, Mirko "Cro Cop" FilipoviÄ? vs. Cheick Kongo, Houston Alexander vs. Alessio Sakara and Paul Taylor vs. Marcus Davis

When: Saturday

Where: London

How: The tape-delayed broadcast beginning at 9 p.m. ET on Spike TV is the only way to see UFC 75 in the United States. It cannot be seen live on American TV.

Predictions after the jump.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Dan Henderson
Henderson is a great fighter and the only mixed martial arts fighter to simultaneously hold major titles in two weight classes. But Rampage is the sport's next big star, and he'll unify the Pride and UFC titles.
Predicted winner: Jackson

Matt Hamill vs. Michael Bisping
These two were rivals during The Ultimate Fighter 3, and that makes this an attractive fight to fans of the UFC reality show. But it probably won't be a great fight, as Bisping is the superior fighter by a wide margin.
Predicted winner: Bisping

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipović vs. Cheick Kongo

Cro Cop's career was derailed when Gabriel Gonzaga knocked him out with a sudden and brutal high kick, but his career will get back on track Saturday. Kongo is a sacrificial lamb.
Predicted winner: Filipovic

Houston Alexander vs. Alessio Sakara
Aside from Jackson beating Liddell, the big story out of UFC 71 was Alexander's dominant knockout victory against Keith Jardine. Look for him to do it again.
Predicted winner: Alexander

Paul Taylor vs. Marcus Davis
Davis fought seven bouts in 2006 and won them all, and he's won two this year. Taylor will have the home crowd on his side, but they won't go home happy.
Predicted winner: Davis.
