Gabriel Gonzaga and Randy Couture aren't engaging in much trash talk before their fight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight title on Saturday night at UFC 74.
But when he's asked -- as he was in an interview with Dave Doyle of Yahoo! Sports -- Gonzaga answers that he expects to knock Couture out.
"Randy Couture is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete," Gonzaga said. "When Randy won, we stood and applauded him like everyone else. Just to have the opportunity to compete against him is a tremendous honor.
"(But) you can't treat this any differently than any other fight. Once the match starts he is just another opponent. He has what I want. Once I step into the octagon, he's just like anyone else I compete against....
"If you want me to predict, I'll say I win by KO."
Gonzaga surprised just about everyone when he knocked out Mirko "Cro Cop'' Filipovic, and it would surprise most UFC fans again if he knocks out Couture. But he has a chance on Saturday night of showing that he's the toughest man on the planet.
