UFC 73: Anderson Silva KOs Nate Marquardt

Anderson Silva defended his UFC middleweight championship with a first-round knockout of Nate Marquardt at UFC 73 Saturday night.

The knockout came after a series of well-placed right hands late in the first round. Silva has now won four of his last five fights by first-round knockout. He improves his record to 19-4, while Marquardt falls to 28-7-1. It was yet another tremendous performance for a tremendous fighter.

Silva has the potential to become a real star in UFC, although he does need to do one thing: Learn to speak better English. A native of Brazil, Silva still uses a translator in interviews, and he'll make himself a ton of money if he manages to start making media appearances without the translator at his side.

That's just about marketing, though. In the Octagon, Silva is as good as it gets.
