UFC 73: Tito Ortiz, Rashad Evans Draw

Tito Ortiz fought Rashad Evans to a draw in a UFC light heavyweight fight in Sacramento tonight.

Ortiz, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, was the crowd favorite, fighting in his 20th UFC bout in a career spanning more than 10 years. But after the draw was announced, Ortiz asked the fans if they were satisfied with the fight, and the crowd booed lustily.

It was a bit of a dirty fight for Ortiz: He landed a knee to the groin that the referee missed, and he had a point deducted for grabbing the fence to gain an advantage. As it turned out, that point prevented Ortiz from winning; had it not been for that ruling (which was the correct ruling by the referee), Ortiz would have won.

Evans entered the fight undefeated, and this was his opportunity to show that he is a real title contender. Instead, he fought an often lackluster fight, and his record drops to 15-0-1.

Does anyone doubt that we'll see a rematch?
