Franca fought as well as could be expected. He was great at the start of rounds, almost catching Sherk in a guillotine just seconds into the first, and landing a brutal knee just seconds into the second. But it became clear late in the fight that Sherk's cardiovascular conditioning was superior, and his unanimous decision was a fairly easy win.
Sherk isn't an extremely exciting fighter, and the crowd booed him at the end. But he's one of the most technically sound fighters you'll ever see. It's hard to envision him losing his lightweight title any time soon.
