The bodies of Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their son Daniel are all at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab, but they won't stay together after the police investigation into the double murder-suicide concludes. The Benoit family will have a private funeral and bury him in his native Canada, his father said.
"It's a horrible, horrible event that's happened," Michael Benoit, the wrestling star's father said, speaking softly on the phone. "We have no understanding why it happened. It's going to take us a long time to come to terms with this, and we may never come to terms with it."
Nancy and Daniel, whom Benoit killed last weekend before killing himself, will be buried together in Florida. The burials of the three Benoits have been delayed because of the ongoing criminal investigation, which will include toxicology tests to determine whether the Benoits had drugs in their systems, and possibly an examination of Benoit's brain.
