
Penn forced Pulver to tap out with a rear naked choke, and Penn was the better fighter all night. Penn looked like he was going to force Pulver to submit in the first round. Pulver managed to fight his way out then, but he couldn't do it again in the second.
In 2002, the first time they fought, Penn lost to Pulver, and since then the two have shown a great deal of ill will toward each other, but after the fight they had kind words to say for each other and even said they would train together in the future.
