Chuck Liddell's loss to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at UFC 71 Saturday night was an upset, but in the days leading up to the fight, the betting line started to go in Jackson's direction, with talk that Jackson was in much better shape than Liddell.And now Norm Clarke reports that Liddell spent too much time clubbing and not enough training.
There were multiple sightings of Liddell at Body English nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel, starting on the Sunday before the fight. He was at Jet nightclub at The Mirage on Monday and back at Body English on Wednesday, as seen in a photo posted on spyonvegas.com.His fight-week nightcrawling raises questions about how serious the UFC's biggest star took his training.
Liddell has never had the sculpted physique that most elite mixed martial arts fighters have, but it was particularly noticeable Saturday night that Jackson appeared to have spent much more time in the gym than Liddell. Liddell learned his lesson the hard way.
