UFC 70 Hits England, Basic Cable

In the latest sign that the Ultimate Fighting Championship is becoming a mainstream sport, Saturday's event, UFC 70, is taking a break from pay-per-view and will be on basic cable in the U.S. Although the channel showing the event, Spike TV, isn't exactly ESPN (I had to do some searching before I learned that it's channel 325 on DirecTV), it is going to make UFC available to a wider audience. Here's UFC's official promotional video:

This UFC will take place in England, showing that the sport is making a real effort to reach out to an international audience. And, of course, UFC features fighters from around the world: Saturday's main event features Mirko Cro Cop of Croatia against Gabriel Gonzaga of Brazil.
