Cat Zingano didn't just earn a spot as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter 18 and the next shot at Ronda Rousey's UFC bantamweight title on Saturday night. She's also leaving Las Vegas with an extra $50,000.
After dropping the first two rounds of her fight on two scorecards against Miesha Tate in their TUF Finale bout at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, Zingano rallied to win in the third. Zingano she finished Tate with a blistering series of standing knees to claim a TKO victory.
The UFC named the thrilling bout Fight of the Night, meaning both Tate and Zingano will take home an extra $50,000.
She wasn't the only fighter to take home an extra 50 grand. Heavyweight standout Travis Browne's vicious elbows to the head of Gabriel Gonzaga earned him a Knockout of the Night bonus; and Daniel Pineda's slick Kimura against Justin Lawrence in the card's opening bout was good for submission of the night.
The UFC also announced the $25,000 bonuses for the best of season 17 of The Ultimate Fighter.
Kelvin Castelum, in addition to his upset victory over Uriah Hall, pocketed $25K for his first-round rear-naked choke of Josh Samman in the semifinal round. Dylan Andrews and Luke Barnatt won Fight of the Season for Andrew's third-round knockout win in the quarterfinals. And in case you haven't figured it out already, Hall's spinning back kick finish of Adam Cella in the first round claimed knockout of the season.
