The injury which sidelined UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson has been revealed.

Johnson's AMC Pankration coach, Matt Hume, said that the Tacoma, Wash. resident has suffered a torn labrum, which will keep him out of action for three months.

The news was originally reported on AXS TV's "Inside MMA."

Johnson has been Zuffa's single most active fighter in recent times, as he fought nine times since Sept. 2010. His most recent win was a successful five-round title defense against John Dodson in the main event of UFC on FOX 6.

The champ was scheduled to defend his title against John Moraga in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale in Las Vegas on April 13. Instead, Urijah Faber will meet Scott Jorgensen in a bantamweight main event.
