This is the UFC 149 live blog for Chris Clements vs. Matt Riddle, a welterweight bout on Saturday night's UFC event at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.
Clements, who won his UFC debut at UFC 145, will fight Riddle, who has lost two of his last three UFC fights, on the main card.

Round 1: Josh Rosenthal is the referee for this one. Riddle goes for a single leg and uses a trip to finish his takedown. But they're right back to their feet. Riddle lands a body kick and Clements responds with a two-punch combo. They trade knees in the clinch and Clements lands an uppercut while they're inside. Back to the middle of the Octagon two minutes in. Clements lands a right. Clements lands a body kick and backs off. Rosenthal thought it was a low blow the way Clements reacted, but it was a body kick. Riddle trips Clements. Clements works his way up and eats a knee. Back to the mat, Riddle briefly gets Clements' back. Riddle stands with 20 seconds left and Clements belts him with an uppercut. Clements sprawls a late takedown attempt. Round 2: Early action leads to Riddle taking Clements down. He sinks in a hook, but Clements tries to fend him off. He can't. Riddle has his back and has a body lock. Clements just trying to stay out of a choke. Riddle landing one right hand after another. This goes on for about two minutes. Riddle briefly transitions to side control, then tries to go for Riddle's back again. Clements lands a couple elbows from the bottom. Riddle gets back to his feet with a minute left, but Riddle is still all over him. They're back to center Octagon, Clements lands a body kick and just misses with a spinning back kick. Round 3: Clements comes out swinging, landing a couple big rights. The clinch along the fence and Clements lands a standing elbow. They break and jog back to center Octagon. Riddle goes for a big head kick and Clements blocksit. Riddle gets a leg and follows with a trip. Riddle wastes no time getting back to his feet. Clements walks into a Riddle left. Clements misses a spinning back fist. Riddle follows right up with a fantastically executed standing triangle, throws Riddle to the ground, hangs on to it, and Riddle taps.
