M-1 Global

On Monday, free agent Vinny Magalhaes signed a deal bringing him back into the UFC. Two days later, he has a return date sealed.

The former TUF finalist who left M-1 Global as its reigning light-heavyweight champion has agreed to face Croatian Igor Pokrajac. The bout will take place at UFC 152 on Sept. 22.

Magalhaes (9-5, 1 no contest) confirmed the booking on Twitter.

He comes back into the promotion on the strength of a five-fight win streak, with all of the victories coming via finish (three submission, two TKOs). The highly decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu artist had a brief run in the octagon after appearing on season eight of The Ultimate Fighter. He lost to Ryan Bader in the finals, and then was defeated by Eliot Marshall in his follow-up, a defeat that sent him out of the UFC. Since then, he's 7-1.

Pokrajac is a stern opening challenge for him.

After winning three straight, Pokrajac is now 25-8. He has consecutive wins over Fabio Maldonado, Krzysztof Soszynski and Todd Brown, with two of the three coming via knockout.

UFC 152 takes place at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, with a main event pitting Joseph Benavidez against Demetrious Johnson to crown the UFC's first-ever flyweight champion, and a co-main event with Michael Bisping taking on Brian Stann.
