UFC 146 Results: After Saying If He Loses He'll Quit, Mayhem Miller Defeated by CB Dollaway

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Prior to his UFC 146 fight, Jason "Mayhem" Miller said if he lost, he would retire. It looks like he has a decision to make.

While Miller had his moments in the standup, hurting C.B. Dollaway on more than one occasion, Dollaway used his wrestling skill to control Miller en route to a 29-28, 30-26, 29-28 unanimous decision win at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

There may have been a complicating factor involved, however, as Miller seemed to be fighting with an injured knee.

His left knee was taped and covered with a knee brace, and it buckled several times throughout the fight.

Miller definitely had the better individual moments in the early part of the bout. In the first, Miller hurt Dollaway with a straight right and then looked for a guillotine. He looked close to securing it, but Dollaway pulled out. In the second, he landed an overhand right that sent Dollaway reeling backwards.

But in the seconds after most of Miller's good moments, Dollaway shot successful takedowns and controlled the action. By the third though, Dollaway was in complete control, securing a back mount and throwing uninterrupted strikes from the top. Miller withstood the barrage, but couldn't do enough to earn the decision.

Now we'll have to wait and see if Miller (23-9, 1 no contest) holds to his pre-fight promise.

It was about two months ago on an episode of MMA Uncensored when he made the bold statement.

"If I lose to him, I’m quitting. I quit. I don’t deserve to be in there," he said then.

Dollaway improved his record to 12-4 with the victory.
