Feb 7, 2012 - A little over a month ago, former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin blocked me on Twitter for no good reason (at least I thought so). So when we ran into Griffin at UFC 143, we had to find out why he not only did that but unfollowed me, as well. Watch below as Griffin states his case and also discusses why he wants to fight to Tito Ortiz for a third time.

Oh Noes! Griffin blocks Helwani on Twitter!
Remind me why I should care Helwani? Actually don’t. Just report the damn news.

Perhaps I wanted to listen to why he wants to rematch Ortiz? I shouldn’t be expected to sift through minutes of bullshit before I get there. Go wind your neck in.

You can disagree with others
When you start calling them obscene names, however, we have problems. Please do not. Thanks.

Weather forecast: Wet
Griffin must have chewing on something pretty serious. He was getting spittle on his shirt.
I don’t really care about Ariel or his Twitter either, but at this point you know what to expect from his interviews: shoes, nose, social media and inflammatory lines of questioning. It is what it is.

And So It Begins....
Luke Thomas chastising posters on MMAFIGHTING.COM…
Well there goes the end of an era. Now comes the era of users being blocked for breaking the same rules the editors break or allow other writers to break on a daily basis.
Sigh
I find nothing wrong with SuperFNMario telling some jackass he’s a jack ass. Or he should kill himself. I find nothing wrong with someone replying to my comment and telling me I’m a retarded TUF Noob and my mother’s a whore(she’s too old to be one anyways, but maybe back in the day…who knows…possibility I guess).
This place use to be the promised land. Best writing, videos, pictures, and funniest user comments. And now….only God can tell.

LOL
To be fair, I’ve never told anyone to kill themselves. I have no problem insulting others, but I don’t cross that line. =)

Keep it classy
I run a web site myself and do not let readers/commenters attack others (including my writers) or make personal attacks against them (or vice versa). Does it limit the comments? Maybe? Does it limit the trolls? Yes. And best of all, we have good discussions even when people don’t agree. Keeping the discussion civil may be too much for some readers, especially factoring in age and internet anonymity, so good job by the admins. I don’t want to make a point in a discussion only to be called names by some immature #

I agree
and you didn’t have to censor the last word because you were using a curse word in it’s proper context, not to insult someone directly.

Ariel is a professional critic/analyst/reporter
He should not be apologetic for his views or opinions. I know he wants to ingratiate himself with the MMA athletes so as to get interviews but dude standby your views and bunk what Forrest thinks.

Good on forrest
Ariel Helwani always tries to start fueds between fighters and get them in trouble. His line of questioning is always, “joe shomo said this, how do you respond to that.” He has become cocky over the years, almost arrogant. Does he realize he would be nothing without the fighters? Why doesn’t he be a little respectful and not try to start something. A lot of fighters can’t stand him because he always tries to get them in trouble. His interviews are also so wierd.
They really need to replace Helwani with Ben Fowlkes or Michael. I hope someone starts a 10000 strong page to fire Helwani, cause I’m in.

How many fighters has Ariel pissed off?
The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Quinton Jackson, Rashad Evans, Nick Diaz and Tito Ortiz. I guess briefly BJ Penn as well. I dunno. Nothing Ariel has done seems that egregious. It kind of seems like a lot of fighters are sensitive.

MR BROWN NOSE IN JEW JITSU
Well i dont deny Ariel Pelwani is the leading “journalist” in the MMA world, followed closely by Mauro, Straka and the that retarded guy who always starts his questions with “DANA..” in those press conferences….anyways back to my point…why is Ariel the mermaid such a brown nose loser, just ignore that one guy doesnt like you and has blocked you….am sure you got his number and you still will get interviews….this bein an example as its strictly business and not personal………..stop crying when people tell you they dont like you….not everyone will like you and i think twitter has turned you into thinking your the next Howard Stern of MMA…..you may have his nose and one day you may collect as many pennies as him (lotta pennies) but til then stop being a lil bitch and do your mudafukin job u beta madafka…..peace.

Believe it or not...
The MMA world does not revolve around you, Ariel Helwani. I know that may be hard for you to understand. Also, everyone is NOT out to get you. You are not being victimized by EVERY acquaintance you have.
I mean, I wish I had your job and props to you for working your way into the MMA world, but just do the dream job that you have and stop polluting every interview with unprofessional, immature, imaginary beefs. You are abusing your access to these fighters and MMA figures.

After watching the Anderson interview I'm starting to think Forest had a point.
From the UFC on FUEL broadcast presumedly live, but since Canada does not get FUEL I’m not sure about that …
Anderson, “I no need to talk a Chael Sonnen, please!” ( It was a very sincere please from a very accommodating yet struggling to communicate in english Anderson.)
Ariel ignoring him replies, " Just a couple more from him if you don’t mind he came out … "
On twitter Ariel writes , " Watch his demeanor change quickly after a few Chael Q’s. Interesting — "
Anderson puts his arm on his shoulder and says please once more … I didn’t think it was interesting I thought it was sad: it was like, " Why would you disrespect me, How Chael fucking Sonnen of you."
Cmon dude I know you’re a big shot from New York City with funky shoes now, but I liked you when you were a humble Canadian “awe shucksing” it up with Gina Carano and forging a place in the growing sport of MMA because of who you were. I believe you have won great accolades and praise because of your vulnerability and honesty not because of some persona you may become.
I still got your back Ariel (despite the relentless WWE content ) not just because you are a Canadian or because I thought matter-of-factly that I was going to play left field for the Montreal Expos till I was 9 years old but because you were a nice guy doing a great job.
Peace!
We may have come in different ships but we’re all in the same boat now.
