Feb 7, 2012 - The Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans showdown is finally official for UFC 145 on April 21 in Atlanta.
UFC president Dana White on Monday confirmed the bout and tickets for the event at the Phillips Arena will go on sale Feb. 17.
Evans won the light heavyweight title shot by beating Phil Davis two weeks ago at UFC on FOX 2, setting up the much-delayed meeting with his rival, the UFC champion Jones. Jones will be returning from a brief vacation after defeating Lyoto Machida at UFC 140 in December.
On Monday, Jones' coach Greg Jackson said he was still unsure if he would corner Jones against Evans due to Jackson's personal connection with Evans. Evans made his rise in MMA through Jackson's gym, but eventually left when it became clear he and Jones would inevitably meet inside the UFC cage.

I hope this fight is a barn burner.
It has potential to be epic.
I just hope there’s not gonna be any crybaby-esque performances before/after the fact.

Possibly not
Evans has a tendency to counter-strike against high-level strikers. He’s going to have a huge height, reach and size disadvantage. So, he’s most likely to try to circle a lot, punch and kick at angles and attempt takedowns as opposed to taking a monster like Jones head on and brawling with him.

I agree.
But it will be a very, very interesting chess match. And I can’t wait to see it. Evans poses serious problems for any fighter, but I think Jones is too good to lose this fight.
I think Jones wins this fight 9 times out of 10, but there’s only one way to find out.

Is there a betting line for one of them getting injured and thus postponing the fight yet again?
I’ll take that bet.
