Good interview
but being that he was leading one of the biggest sports franchise in the NBA, it would have been nice to see how they approached strategy-wise and marketing-wise. I’ve been to China before and the NBA is mega huge.

Ugh
I hate it when different executives talk about UFC as a sport. Maybe it’s a poor choice of words rather than a conscious decision. (a.k.a marketing tool)
It gets on my nerves anyways. I love the UFC, but when people accuse it of being a monopoly it doesn’t necessarily have to mean finiancially or however you measure that.
If Joe Average from Texas believes the UFC is a sport then i’m sure the bosses don’t mind.

korea?
i wonder how korea would do, not too familiar how big mma is there.
if korean zombie beat poirier and then maybe one more top 5 fw, he could get a shot at aldo (although i think aldo wins easily)
and obviously, dong hyun kim would be a big draw too

Japanese fans are used to Good Guy vs Bad Guy?
What are you talking about… This is a country of such incredible depth of knowledge about MMA. They are vastly appreciative of technique and ability which is the opposite of what you’re saying. Yes, pro wrestling is also popular here and the idea of entertainment is to, but Good Guy vs Bad Guy? Get a clue and stop selling the Japanese fans short. These people can support a fighting organization done well and will reject one run by misguided GM’s.
