Feb 22, 2012 - In what will more than likely be a standup fight, Duane "Bang" Ludwig is slated to meet Dan Hardy at UFC 146 on May 26 in Las Vegas, the UFC confirmed Wednesday.
Two welterweights with weaknesses on the floor and a strong preference to keep the fight standing, Ludwig and Hardy are both looking to get back on the winning track after coming off submission losses to Josh Neer and Chris Lytle, respectively.
Ludwig was recently seen in a loss to Neer by guillotine choke at the UFC on FX event on Jan. 20, putting a stop to Ludwig's momentum after two straight wins and the recognition of holding the UFC's fastest knockout.
Hardy has not won a fight since November 2009 and is riding a four-fight losing streak. Despite the skid, he's kept his job due to his gameness as a fighter.
UFC 146 will likely be headlined by a heavyweight title bout between champion Junior dos Santos and challenger Alistair Overeem.

Dan might be fucked again.
But I hope he pulls it out. The mohawk and smug attitude enthrall me.

Tough challenge for the Outlaw.
I see both fighters deliver, but Ludwig will maybe win a decision.
What if Hardy really loses, but they get FOTN? Would the UFC still keep Hardy?

Moving him to Strikeforce might have been good for Hardy, the UFC and Strikeforce.
His losses were against legit guys, so he is still be good enough for Strikeforce’s thin WW division.
He could headline or co-headline an event for SF, but with 4 consecutive losses in the UFC, he is just filler at UFC 146.
The step down in competition could allow him to work on his game, maybe win some fights, gain some confidence and eventually go back to the UFC (if he did well enough).
I know this could happen after UFC 146 as well, but SF needs to sign some known fighters now.

What a joke
guys get canned for one bad fight. this kid hasnt won a round in 3 years; and he’s lost every way possible since. has to be doing special favors for lorenzo -#ilikeguysthatwar (or lose constantly)

or
he could be a big draw in the UK, a market that the UFC is still intent on developing and exploiting. it’s the reality of a growing sport. international guys with personality appeal are going to get more chances than stateside guys who aren’t entertaining.

Well if Hardy goes out..
at least he’s going out with a Bang.

Hendo/Bisping:
"He hit him so hard that even gravity got scared. Bisping hung in mid-air for a moment while gravity screamed at inertia, "Did you see that shit!?" Then, after a high five, the two universal forces quit screwing around and yanked Bisping's limp body onto the floor." - quotes by Seanbaby

Hardy couldn't even beat an old man
So how does he expect to beat a Ludwig? How funny would it be if he loses the standup AGAIN and goes for a take down and gets subbed immediately? This dude had the nerve to criticize Rumble Johnson for not trading, thank god he didn’t he prolly would’ve gotten knocked out in that fight too

We would have never been saying this 3 years ago but...
I got Duane Ludwig in this one, I don’t know what happened to Hardy, I really hope he makes improvement because I hate to see guys fall off like that.
