Shields vs. Henderson to Main Event April 17 CBS Strikeforce Show
By Mike ChiappettaPosted: Mar 1st 2010 5:22 PM
The long-rumored Strikeforce middleweight title bout between Jake Shields and Dan Henderson is finally official, according to Shields, who Twittered the news on Monday afternoon. The event will take place on April 17 on CBS.
By posting the news, however, Shields unintentionally confirmed that international heavyweight star Fedor Emelianenko will not compete at the event. Emelianenko, whose M-1 team is currently in the midst of trying to renegotiate his deal with Strikeforce, would headline any event in which he was participating.

As mixed martial arts fans continue to wonder when Strikeforce will announce its next big fight card, some of Strikeforce's top fighters are wondering the same. The latest to say so is Jason Mayhem Miller, who appeared on the Adam Carolla podcast and said he expects to fight soon but hasn't been told a time, date, place, opponent or television network for the next time he steps into the cage.
MMA Top 10 Middleweights: An Odd Month for the Division
By Michael David SmithPosted: Nov 17th 2009 8:44 AM
November has been an odd month for middleweights. The UFC's middleweight division is basically taking the month off, with the undisputed No. 1 middleweight in the world, UFC champion Anderson Silva, nursing an elbow injury and hinting that he doesn't think any of the UFC's other top middleweights are worthy opponents.
Meanwhile, two big middleweight fights happened in other promotions, but they didn't quite go according to plan: Jake Shields beat Jason "Mayhem" Miller to win the Strikeforce middleweight title in a fight that left the crowd booing, while Mamed Khalidov shocked Sengoku middleweight champion Jorge Santiago.
And the guy who's probably the best middleweight after Silva -- Dan Henderson -- doesn't have a contract at the moment and isn't sure if he'll be fighting for the UFC or Strikeforce in 2010. So my list of the Top 10 middleweights in MMA shows a division in flux.

By Michael David SmithPosted: Nov 7th 2009 10:46 PM
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- Jason "Mayhem" Miller is a great entertainer. He showed in his fight with Jake Shields on Saturday night that he's a pretty good fighter, too -- but not quite good enough to beat Shields in a fight that often felt like a stalemate and left a lot of fans booing Saturday night at Strikeforce, Fedor vs. Rogers.Miller, as usual, had an entertaining entrance, featuring dancing girls and some dancing of his own. Shields didn't need an escort of entertainers, however, he just strolled into the cage and did his business. He shot immediately for a takedown and got Miller exactly where he wanted him. Amazingly, when Shields got to full mount, Miller was able to stand back up without taking much damage.
