Strikeforce Live Blog: Keith Jardine vs. Roger Gracie

Keith Jardine and Roger Gracie will compete on the main card of the Rockhold vs. Kennedy event Saturday night (Esther Lin, Showtime).

This is the Strikeforce live blog for Keith Jardine vs. Roger Gracie, a middleweight bout for Saturday night's Strikeforce event at the Rose Garden.

Jardine, who is 2-1-1 in his last four fights, will fight Gracie, who is 2-1 in his Strikeforce career, on the main card.

Round 1: Jardine throws the first strike, a looping right that just misses. Jardine bursts forward but Gracie wastes no time dumping him on his back, landing in half guard. Gracie patiently trying to improve his position while Jardine works his way to the fence and stands back up. Gracie muscles him back down and Jardine's arm is trapped. Definitely not a good spot for Jardine, and just like that, Gracie advances to full mount. One minute left, can Gracie take advantage? Jardine valiantly fighting off Gracie's attack, and somehow, he survives. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Gracie.

Round 2: Jardine jogs out bouncing on his heels. "The Dean of Mean" charges forward with another series of jabs, and once again, Gracie dumps him right on his back. Just like last round. Jardine scrambles and promptly gives up his back. Gracie patiently working for a rear-naked choke and Jardine, blood dripping down his face, is just trying to stay alive. Jardine's face is a complete mess. Gracie seizes a body lock and continues to work towards the choke. Jardine whirls around and Gracie claims a high full mount. Complete domination. MMA Fighting scores it 10-8 for Gracie.

Round 3: Both fighters touch gloves to kick off the final round. Jardine finds his mark with a body shot then slips out of a clinch attempt. He wants no part of the ground. Jardine whizzes an uppercut that grazes Gracie's chin. Gracie eats a right hand and stumbles backward. Jardine getting wild with his punches now. Gracie ducks under a looping hook and unloads a knee from the clinch. Jardine taunting his opponent, trying to entice a brawl, but Gracie has none of it. Neither fighter seems willing to commit to anything significant and both men are absolutely exhausted. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Jardine.
