Feb 14, 2012 - It's becoming more and more unlikely that Gina Carano will make her in-ring return to MMA -- at least anytime soon.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Carano will star in In the Blood, an action thriller that will tentatively begin filming around late spring, early summer. Carano will play a wife who hunts down a man she believes kidnapped and killed her husband during a vacation in the Caribbean.
"This role will showcase not only Gina’s fighting skills, but also her acting abilities as her character struggles to reign in her violent past," director John Stockwell told The Hollywood Reporter.
In the Blood will be Carano's second major film following her starring role in the Steven Soderbergh-directed Haywire, which was widely released in January to mostly positive reviews.
Carano (7-1), who made her name in the MMA world in 2007 fighting on CBS for EliteXC, last competed in a losing effort against Cristiane Santos on a Strikeforce card in August 2009.

Who Cares???
Woman’s mma death can’t come quick enough for me. Their is no point to it whatsoever. The only reason anybody even cares because some posters
think she “hot”, or even care about woman mma because they “hot”. Is a freak show
get rid of it, and put real athletes in the cage instead plz.
What you going to do when you know who? How you going to deal with the man of steel? And how will you react to Sonnen's attack?

4 Things
I understand that feeding trolls is bad practice, in general.
However, before you make such an ignorant assertion about female fighters not being "real athletes," I would like to see you step out from behind your keyboard and do four things:
1) Stop a Meisha Tate takedown
2) Escape a Ronda Rousey armbar
3) Last 5 minutes with Marloes Coenen, either standing or in her guard
4) Step into a dark alley with Cyborg and not get your head knocked off your shoulders
Accomplish this, then you can degrade these talented fighters, based on their gender, all you want.

1) I was a wrestler in HS i’m sure i can stop a takedown from her
2) If she has me already in an armbar position no im not getting out lol
3)No problem
4) Cyborg is a man we all know that lol

1) Depending on how long ago that was, I would bet against you.
3) Doubtful, but certainly more likely than #1.
4) Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Anyway I think had Carano not lost to the man that Cyborg was then and now, WMMA would have decent fights! GINA was the face of WMMA and we see the decline in the horizon, at least her movie kicked ass

Why is it that we always talk about movies
when it comes to MMA? You never hear anybody in boxing, basketball, football or baseball talking about making movies or becoming a crossover star, so what is it about MMA that has reporters asking fighters about doing movies, and what is it about MMA fighters that are getting them more into movies than other athletes?

she's scared!
The bitch is scared of Cyborg! And she’s not even a good actress just a pretty face!

Can you blame her?
Cyborg would be a scary opponent to face and a bad loss usually haunts a fighter. She fell into the movie business. Why not take a break and try something different. She’ll be back and better than before, I’m sure of it and looking forward to it!
