'The Ultimate Fighter 8' semifinal matchups set

The quarterfinals came to a close on tonight's episode of "The Ultimate Fighter 8" when Team Mir's George Roop won a unanimous decision over Team Nogueira's John Polakowski.

Roop advances to fight Phillipe Nover in the lightweight semifinals. On the other bracket, Junie Browning will fight Efrain Escudero. The lightweight semifinals will air December 3 during the show's two-hour taped finale.

In light heavyweight action set to air next week, Ryan Bader will clash with Eliot Marshall, and Krzysztof Soszynski will take on Vinny Magalhaes.

The winners will fight in the finals of their respective weight class at the live finale on December 13 in Las Vegas. 

And for those keeping count, Team Mir beat Team Nogueira 5 to 3.
