Keri Ann-Melendez’s next fight will be on one of the world’s biggest stages.
The converted kickboxer will have her second pro MMA bout at Madison Square Garden, where she’ll meet Sadee Monseratte Williams in a strawweight matchup on the Bellator 180 undercard. MMA Fighting confirmed an initial Tuesday report by the San Jose Mercury News.
Melendez (1-0), the wife of former Strikeforce lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez, knocked out Sheila Padilla in 47 seconds at Bellator 165 in San Jose in November. Williams, a 29-year-old from New Jersey nicknamed “Sadistic,” is 0-1 as pro.
Bellator also announced another undercard bout on Tuesday, as Bradley Desir (9-5) will meet Nate Grebb (3-1) in a lightweight bout as part of its VOW veterans’ series.
