Justin Gaethje has a date and an opponent for his UFC debut.
The former WSOF lightweight champion has been scheduled to take on Michael Johnson in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale, which is set to take place on July 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Gaethje is currently 17-0 in his MMA career with notable wins over Melvin Guillard, Gesias Cavalcante, Dan Lauzon, Brian Foster and Luis Palomino. The 28-year-old lightweight held the WSOF lightweight title for three years before signing with the UFC. Gaethje last fought in December where he defeated Luiz Firmino via third-round technical knockout.
Meanwhile, Johnson is coming off a submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov back in November at UFC 205. The top-10 lightweight is currently 17-11 as a professional fighter and 1-3 in his past four fights.
