Teruto Ishihara will face the most experienced opponent in his MMA career in July, as he meets two-time lightweight title contender Gray Maynard at TUF 25 Finale in Las Vegas.
The final of the 25th edition of The Ultimate Fighter is scheduled for July 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC officially announced the bout following a report by Review-Journal.
Ishihara (9-3-2) signed with the UFC after competing at the promotion’s “Road to UFC” reality show in Japan, and impressed with back-to-back knockout wins over Julian Erosa and Horacio Gutierrez before losing a decision to Artem Lobov in November.
Maynard (12-6-1, 1 NC) snapped a four-fight losing streak with a decision victory over Fernando Bruno last July, but dropped a decision to Ryan Hall five months later.
TUF 25 Finale is part of the 2017 International Fight Week, which concludes a night after with UFC 213.
