Another Team Alpha Male fighter is making her mark in the UFC.
Cynthia Cavillo wasted little time announcing her presence in the UFC on Saturday night, as she scored an impressive first-round submission victory over Amanda Cooper on the main card of UFC 209.
The time of the finish was 3:19 as Calvillo finished the job with a rear-naked choke in the strawweight matchup.
Calvillo wasted little time in asserting herself against Cooper, the TUF 23 finalist. She quickly worked into position to grab an anaconda choke, then transitioned to Cooper’s back in the blink of an eye and got the RNC for the victory.
“I was ready,” said Cooper, who improved to 4-0 with three finishes. “I knew it was an opportunity I was waiting for for a very long time.”
Cooper dropped to 2-3 with her second straight loss.
