Invicta has added a pair of intriguing flyweight bouts to its next card.
Christine Stanley will take on Shannon Sinn and Rachael Ostovich meets Ariel Beck at Invicta FC 17 on May 7 in Costa Mesa, Calif., it was announced Friday on Invicta FC Radio. Stanley and Ostovich are two of the promotion's top up-and-coming names at 125 pounds.
Stanley (4-1) has won three straight, including a first-round TKO win over Laura Salazar at Invicta 11 in February 2015. The 35-year-old Alliance MMA product was supposed to fight at Invicta 15 in January, but her opponent dropped out due to injury. Sinn (2-2) is coming off a win over Maureen Riordon in April 2015.
Ostovich (2-2) fell to fellow up-and-comer Andrea Lee via third-round submission last September. The 25-year-old Hawaii native won two straight before that. Beck (3-2), making her Invicta debut, also lost to Lee by submission in her last fight, under the Legacy FC banner.
Also announced for the card is a bantamweight fight between Invicta newcomers Laura Howarth of England and Alexa Conners.
Invicta FC 17 is headlined by a bantamweight title fight between champion Tonya Evinger and Colleen Schneider. In the co-main event, strawweight champion Livia Renata Souza faces Angela Hill.
