A featherweight bout has been added to UFC 199.
As reported on UFC Tonight, Clay Guida will face Brian Ortega on June 4 in Inglewood, California.
The 34-year old Guida (32-16) is coming off of a loss against Thiago Tavares at UFC Fight Night 77 in November. That fight holds the dubious distinction of being Guida's quickest loss, in a career that spans a dozen years. Before that he defeated Robbie Peralta last April. Overall, "The Carpenter" has dropped five of his last eight bouts, though he scored a victory over current UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in 2010.
He'll be facing a formidable challenge in the 25-year old Ortega, who is undefeated in his professional career. Ortega (10-0-1) is coming off a third-round submission victory over Diego Brandao at UFC 195 in January. Overall he has gone 2-0-(1) in the UFC, with his victory over Mike De La Torre becoming a no-contest when it was revealed he tested positive for a banned substance.
UFC 199 takes place on June 4 at the Forum, and features a middleweight title rematch between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman, as well as a bantamweight title fight between rivals Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.
