Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has seen a bit of everything in his athletic career.
From winning an NCAA heavyweight wrestling title, to a brief stint in the NFL, to professional wrestling and becoming one of the biggest draws in MMA. Reacting to comments made by Ronda Rousey admitting to suicidal thoughts following her loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193, Lesnar looked back to amateur wrestling to help encourage the former champion.
"I'm a big fan of Ronda's and have been since the beginning," Lesnar told ESPN Tuesday evening. "I think one thing that I learned, and that she should have learned a long time ago, is that you have to learn how to lose before you can actually win. That was one thing that my coach taught me at a very young age because I was a bad loser. You've got to be able to get back on the horse.
"This life is very precious and very short and one fight isn't going to make or break her career. She's just got to get back on the horse again and figure it out and she will."
Asked if he believed Rousey could be eyeing a move to professional wrestling, Lesnar urged the fighter to reprioritize and figure out exactly what she wants.
"She can do whatever she wants to do," said Lesnar. "She's proven that, but I think she's got a lot on her plate. You can't be a fighter and be in 10 movies a year. She's going to have to step back and find out what Ronda wants to do moving forward."

Fighters, you already pay with your hearts, minds, health & bodies. Never let MMA have so much power over you that you sacrifice your life.

What RR said was real talk. MMA is a brutal sport. There are common links to brain trauma and suicide. The pressures are real.
