Tony Ferguson and Rafael dos Anjos gave the UFC no option but to hand them Fight of the Night bonuses at Saturday's UFC Fight Night 98.
Both fighters will each be taking home an extra $50,000 after ramming kicks, knees, elbows, and punches at each other's faces for five entire rounds. It was a wild, back-and-forth fight in which both fighters had their moments, but it was Ferguson who ultimately got the better of the former lightweight champ dos Anjos, defeating him via unanimous decision.
Ferguson is now on an impressive 9-fight winning streak and remains in title contention, while dos Anjos is now on a two-fight losing streak, including his title fight loss to now champion Eddie Alvarez.
In the two Performance of the Night bonuses, Douglas Silva de Andrade and Ricardo Lamas each earned $50,000.
Silva de Andrade's bonus came after the Brazilian blasted Mexico's Henry Briones with a brutal spinning back fist that sent Briones crumbling to the canvas. Silva de Andrade is now 24-1 as a professional fighter, and 2-1 in the UFC.
Meanwhile, Lamas earned his bonus after tapping out jiu-jitsu black belt Charles Oliveira with a second-round guillotine choke. This fight marks Lamas' first victory since dropping a unanimous decision to Max Holloway at UFC 199 in June. The 34-year-old fighter remains undefeated fighting in Mexico.
