The historic UFC 205 at New York's Madison Square Garden lived up to all the advanced hype.
The company announced a $17.7 million gate at the world's most famous fight venue, the single largest take in the company's 23-year history.
Additionally, several fighters went home with an extra $50,000 apiece after winning the UFC's nightly postfight bonuses: Conor McGregor and Yoel Romero both took Performance of the Night honors, Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson won Fight of the Night honors.
McGregor took his award for becoming the first man to win two weight classes titles at the same time in UFC history. The featherweight champ knocked out Eddie Alvarez in the second round to add the lightweight title to his collection.
Romero finished Chris Weidman with a wicked knee to the head in their third round of his fight, his eighth straight win.
And Woodley and Thompson fought to a majority draw in a spectacular welterweight title fight, with Woodley retaining the gold.
A crowd of 20,427 was announced.
