Pearson (18-10, one no-contest) recently dropped a unanimous decision to Francisco Trinaldo (19-4) at UFC Fight Night 81, while Trujillo (13-7, on no-contest) is coming off a first-round guillotine victory at UFC 195 over Tony Sims.
Since returning to lightweight after a brief stint at featherweight, Pearson has largely alternated wins and losses, going 5-4 with one no-contest during that stretch.
Trujillo, meanwhile, snapped a two-fight losing streak on Jan. 2 with his victory over Sims.
UFC Fight Night 84 is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Mark Hunt (11-10-1) and Frank Mir (18-10).
