Now There Is P4P Crowds?

Last Saturdays UFC event in Ireland was a big event considering it was a fight pass event. By the end of the night we were talking about What may be next for the hometown guys like Conor McGregor, Gunner Nelson, and Norman Parke. Another topic of discussion was the atmosphere of the Dublin crowd. When Dana was asked this question about the Dublin crowd, he declared it as the #1 P4P crowds he has ever went to.

First we have the stupid discussion of the P4P rankings and some controversy of whether or not Ronda Rousey should be on the top P4P list. Now we have this discussion of whether or not this crowd is #1 P4P. What does that even mean? P4P means if everyone was the same weight that fighter would be the best.

You could construed Dana's comments of P4P in many ways, 1) you could think of how P4P is measured by fighters and compare the size of an individual fight fan in the region, 2) determine if x amount of fans would be louder than x amount of fans somewhere else, or 3) Dana is just saying P4P best because he thinks it's the best crowd and saying P4P gives it a boost.

Many people agreed that the Dublin crowd was very loud particularly for their fighters, but who's to say there aren't louder fans somewhere else? Recently for a boxing fight between Carl Froch and George Groves, it was held in Wembley Stadium and it was a big atmosphere for that fight. Maybe when Dana and the UFC enter new territories, they could say this crowd was #1 P4P. One day Dublin could be the P4P champ like Jon Jones and then when the UFC goes to India it could be Dana's P4P crowd like Renan Barao.
