For the 4th Metamoris show, they are doing something different. What they are doing different this time is they are attempting to have a secret match where both participants won't know who their opponent is until the time of the match. This is an intriguing part of the show because it gives the viewers a plot twist and them on their toes to see who the participants are. In 2014, it is very tough to be able to keep a secret for a long time without people trying to figure something out. Already the rumors are out that Kenny Florian is one of the participants in the secret match.
This is something that could work but lets take this to the extreme. What if the UFC used the secret match format? all the participants would only know what weight class they are fighting in and won't know who the opponent is until the weigh in. Now there are a couple of things different from what the UFC can do vs. what Metamoris could do. For instance, Metamoris could get big names as the participants in the secret match and it wont be that much of a problem. However, the UFC would rather not have a secret match with high profile fighters because they would like to market that fight and get as many viewers/$$$ as they can.
If we were to go along with this idea, the secret fight most likely wouldn't be as the main event fight. What they could do is use the "secret match" as the main event of the preliminary card. The UFC has talked about putting named fighters as the man event of the prelim card because the prelims is its own event. We saw this when Urijah Faber vs. Alex Caceres.
With the UFC having trouble making good stacked cards this could be a unique niche that for the time being keep people anticipating for who the next secret fight would be.
