Why do MMA 'fans' vehemently bash organisations other than the UFC?

For a number of years, I have seen a great deal of people bash organizations other than the UFC on MMA forums. Most recently it is Bellator, or ‘bellasnore’ as the haters would say.

Of course, the same thing happened when Strikeforce was doing well -- ‘Strikefarce’ etc (another Dana slur).

Around that time I got into many a ‘good for the sport of MMA’ vs. ‘good for UFC’ debate.

I learned, however, that no matter how polite you made your point of view, the ‘back and forths’ were a waste of time, as those who were in the the latter ‘camp’ were unusually stubborn. But why?

Is it because they are new to MMA, and defend the UFC because it is the only product they know, or could it possibly be that they are employed by Zuffa to spam MMA sites with pro-UFC chat?

I feel somewhat embarrassed asking the latter but some of the comments are that narrow minded, it makes you wonder.

Everyone is entitled to criticise organisations but it is those who do it unconstructively that amaze me. You know? The ones that finish their comments with either ‘they’re doomed’ or ‘destined for failure’ or tell you that Rebney is a serial dog killer to put you off the product - I’m not joking.

Perhaps those who say such things are just the vocal minority and most of us who want MMA organisations to do well, improving the contracts for the fighters and keeping promoters on their toes in terms of the product, are shrinking violets? Who knows? But it would be great to hear your thoughts?
