While nothing is yet finalized, a match-up between top-10 welterweights -- Hector Lombard and Dong Hyun Kim -- is currently in the works for a UFC Fight Night event on August 23, 2014 in Macau, China, according to a report made by MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani on UFC Tonight.
The event would mark the UFC's second visit to Macau in 2014, and would take place on the same day as a UFC Fight Night event in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Lombard (34-4-1, 1 NC) is currently the UFC's No. 7 ranked welterweight.
A former Bellator middleweight champion, Lombard has steamrolled over Nate Marquardt and Jake Shields since dropping to 170 pounds in late-2013. The 36-year-old also carries notable victories over WSOF welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares and Bellator titleholder Alexander Shlemenko, among others.
Meanwhile, Kim (19-2-1, 1 NC) has picked up four straight wins since suffering a first-round injury against Demian Maia in 2012, catapulting his name into the division's No. 9 ranked spot.
Aside from the Maia setback, Kim has lost just once over the course of 13 UFC fights. Of late, though, the South Korean has shifted his grinding style into a more entertaining and fan-friendly sort, picking up back-to-back post-fight bonuses for brutal knockouts of Erick Silva and John Hathaway.
