That slips free, and Borg goes back to work trying for a rear naked. He has the Milwaukee fighter flattened out on his stomach, but as he sinks in with his arms Ortiz gets to knees. Right back to it, as Borg lands a curling right hand. Now Ortiz stands up, but he has a passenger in the form of Borg, who is piggybacking still with a body lock. Mein trying to get mount, can't, but he is landing shots on Perpetuo all the same -- plenty of room to slug. But Magalhaes pounces and is wailing on Zachrich, and McCarthy steps in. That's it! Explosive stuff from Magalhaes. Wow. McCarthy might have missed a shot to the groin, the thing that crippled Zachrich over. A bunch of left hands as he turtled up and McCarthy stopped it. Zachrich pointing to replays to McCarthy afterwards. On replay, it's hard to tell if he was hit in the groin.

They are both gamers, as they again come together in a flurry. Another big shot with left hand by White, and Payan hits the deck. Here comes White for the finish, throwing bombs on the fence to the downed Payan, who is still on the canvas, and the referee waves him off. Oddly enough, just as the referee did that Payan came springing back to life, jumped to his feet to protest. The last punch look like it woke him up. But a good stoppage, as he was stiff taking all the preceding punches on the floor.

Healy has a leg, but he lets it go. Nice knee from Healy in clinch. They break and Masvidal plants and does a spinning heel kick that lands into Healy's wrists, as he was protecting his face. Healy wastes no more time and shoots in for takedown, gets it -- but just as before, right back up Masvidal pops. Masvidal trying to control wrists, and doing a fine job of thwarting Healy's wrestling. They break, and with the space Masvidal lands a couple of pretty jabs and a hook. Healy unfazed, as he moves forward throwing. He lands a right hand, and back to the fence they go, battling through whizzers and underhooks. Healy breaks, and Masvidal very fluidly sneaks a couple of jabs in. Now the action's picking up. Healy with a takedown, and Masvidal somersaults which basically causes Healy's head to spike. Nevertheless, the gritty wrestler holds him at the waste. Now Masvidal able to turn the tables, and he has Healy on fence sitting on his bottom. Little headlock from Healy, and using fence he gets up. Not for long, as Masvidal dumbs him down. Looks like Healy has lost some steam. Masvidal is working for Healy's back, and he has a leg planted over the knee, but Healy able to scramble and get up. Now Healy with single-leg attempt, and as he works for it Masvidal lands a series of sharp elbows to his hips. He fakes low and comes in high. Alves with a head kick which lands. Good poise from Alves, who isn't showing much of the rust people feared (though he's being methodical). Flying knee from Baczynski, and Alves tracks him down across cage throwing! Lands a beautiful right. Lots of game exchanges in that first round, crowd loving the fight. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Alves, 10-9.

Round 2: Alves' right eye is swollen, too. He was catching heaters in that first round. Back at it, and they are picking spots—Alves circling now, with Baczynski holding center. Good kick series from Alves, who is moving fluidly. He throws another kick, this time caught and disrupted by Baczynski, who spins him off balance. Each time Baczynski comes in with something it seems Alves is throwing kicks. He's working his hands in there, too, predicated off the kicks. Good forward push kick from Baczynski, square to Alves chest. High-low combos for Baczynski have been more effective in second round. Baczynski catches Alves with a punch after an errant flying knee that might have stunned him a bit. Alves momentarily froze, and now there's blood coming out of his nostrils. Both guys wearing the struggle on their faces. Leg kick by Alves. He tucks his head down and throws two punches up top, and follows that with another leg kick. Inside of a minute. They exchange on the fence as the round ends, and glare at each other. MMA Fighting scores R2 for Alves, 10-9 (20-18 overall)

Round 3: Crowd lets up roar for Florida's own Alves as he comes out for third. Chants break out. Body kick from Alves, and he's still the aggressor. Baczynski is game though, and puts his head down and drives Alves to the fence, trying to take him down. Didn't work. Back to center, Alves circling. Lot of volume in strikes for both guys; Alves seems to be landing more efficiently even still. Baczynski waving jab and follows that with a blazing overhand which misses and throws him off balance. Alves waits for Baczynski to fire, and uses his head movement to get out of the way and return. Alves lands a punch right down Main that backed Baczynski up for a second. They are just teeing off in some of these trades. Solid left from Alves lands, and he follows that up with a steady flow of punches. Baczynski is tired, but he's still got the dog in him -- he puts his head down and rushes forward for takedown, but doesn't have the burst. Huge come up from Alves, who tracks Baczynski down on fence and unloads with a couple of big shots! Baczynski was hurt for a moment, but he wheels around. Crowd roaring with each punch. Both guys tired and with battered features. Closing seconds, and they once again throw caution to the wind and swing away. What a fight. Looks like Alves may have made a triumphant return. MMA Fighting scores R3 for Alves, 10-9 (30-27 overall)

Having had enough of the formalities, Nurmagomedov shoots in for takedown and gets it. Dos Anjos gazes over his shoulder from bottom and takes a breath. Back to plotting a get up. Nurmagomedov is keeping him there, though, and landing some punches. As Dos Anjos squirms forward, Nurmagomedov stays with him, adjusts his center of gravity, and muscles him back. Nurmagomedov is twisting Dos Anjos, and trying to dump him back on the ground. McCarthy is watching close, as they thing nears a stalemate. Now he gets the takedown, and Dos Anjos, grabbing what he can, gets Nurmagomedov's neck for short guillotine attempt. Nothing there. For a moment he got the butterfly guard, but could not push the Dagestani off of him. Nurmagomedov stands up and, for a brief second looked like he was going to let Dos Anjos stand. Nope, instead he jumps high over his upkicking legs and tries to land a punch as the round ends. MMA Fighting scores R2 for Nurmagomedov, 10-9 (20-18 overall)

Round 3: Head kick attempt by Nurmagomedov. Dos Anjos may need to score a finish here. Nice body shot to the kidney from Dos Anjos. Dos Anjos able to initiate there with a kick into a takedown attempt, but couldn't get it worked through. In fact, Nurmagomedov grabs him and throws him across his body, slamming him to the canvas. And now Nurmagomedov is right back into Dos Anjos' guard, not finding much operating room, but posturing. He's able to get to half-guard, and from thee lands a couple of left hands. Butterfly guard for Dos Anjos, but only for a moment as Nurmagomedov swims right back through his limbs. Dominant stuff from Nurmagomedov. Nurmy is throwing some punches around from back of Dos Anjos, but mostly just suffocating him. And that's how it ends, with a few scattered boos. Total domination by Nurmagomedov.
