Junior Maranhao collapses off stool at RFA 14, allowed to continue in main event

In a bizarre turn of events at RFA 14, Junior Maranhao fell off his stool after the fourth round during the main event Friday night at the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center in Cheyenne, Wy., and he was allowed to continue to fight.

At the end of the fourth round, Matt Manzanares was trying to pull off a triangle choke for 40 seconds before the end of the round. Maranhao went to his stool, and then quickly collapsed, before being helped to his stool by his cornermen. From the video above, apparently a medical official went to check on Maranhao, but did not inspect Maranhao, just asked his corner a couple of questions, and left the cage.

Maranhao came up short in the main event, losing via split decision to Matt Manzanares for the RFA flyweight title.
