This is the UFC 170 live blog for Mike Pyle vs. T.J. Waldburger, a welterweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

Pyle, who has won four of his past five UFC fights, will face Waldburger, who has won three of his past five UFC fights, on the main card.

Round 1: Herb Dean is the referee. Both fighters are orthodox. Outside leg kick for Waldburger to start the bout. Both fighters trade leg kicks, one inside and the other out. Waldburger presses Pyle into the cage for a takedown, but Pyle separates. Pyle eats a left hook from Waldburger, but stands strong. Waldburger is starting to open up with another outside leg kick and right hook. Pyle lands a foot sweep and after pressing one way, switches sides and passes. Waldburger scores an underhook and they stand in a scramble. Waldburger now pressing Pyle into the fence, but Waldburger is eating hard knees. Pyle uses a body lock takedown right at the bell to score points.

Round 2: Waldburger misses with a front kick and eats an outside leg kick for his efforts. Both fighters trade left hooks and eats a hard outside leg kick. Waldburger slips, but locks up a heel hook until Pyle spins to stop it. Waldburger's nose is bleeding as he works underneath, but scoots to the fence and is able to stand. Waldburger tries to clinch and press Pyle into the fence again, but Pyle gets double underhooks and takes Waldburger down only to quick pass guard. Waldburger is able to recover guard and stand, but the round ends there.

Round 3: Left jab-right leg kick combo lands for Waldburger as does a counter left hook. Solid step-in right hand for Pyle as he presses forward. Body jab now for Waldburger, but Pyle doing most of the stalking. Crisp over the top right hand lands for Pyle as does another version of the same strike. Waldburger drops for a double, but it goes nowhere. Spinning back fist lands for Pyle and drops Waldburger as it seems to strike the back of the head, but Waldburger recovers and presses Pyle into the fence.Two hard elbows for Pyle in the stand up forces Waldburger to shoot. Pyle locks up a guillotine and uses it to reverse into mount. He's pounding on Waldburger and this is getting ugly. Waldburger is eating elbow and punches as he gives up his back. Referee Dean stops the fight, a bit late in this writer's opinion.
