As should be obvious, for those who know what a Newfie is, and from my username (unless of course I happen to be lying), I am a Canadian living abroad in Spain, and I have been a very big MMA fan (some would say hardcore) for many years, to the point where I eventually stopped watching what used to be my favourite sport (you guessed it) hockey. The first few years I started watching MMA I was still fairly heavy into both sports, but the excitement and draw of MMA eventually took over and hockey at first took a back seat and then I completely stopped watching. Even now I have no idea how my team, The Calgary Flames, are doing, they could be dead last, fighting for a playoff spot, or running their division, though I find this last possibility pretty unlikely.
MMA here in Spain is not all that popular, since arriving 6 months ago I have seen 1 Tapout and possibly 1 Affliction shirt, and though I have heard that there is an underground following I have yet to make any connections. I am starting kickboxing lessons today, and from what I have heard there may be some people at the gym who follow it, so I am hopeful.
My question regarding the video player has to do with some videos being available while others are not. It seems to me that the videos produced by mmafighting, like fighter interviews, are usually playable for me. Now with the time difference between NA and Spain most UFC events start here at 4:00 AM, so unless it is a really good card it's not too often I will get out of bed at that time to watch fights. Also I can't get PPV/ Fox/ fightpass here so any events I do watch have to be by stream, so after an event first thing I do is try and find highlights of the fights. But whenever I try and play videos uploaded by mmafighting (as well as most sites) that are fight highlights I always get this message, or something similar, that "The uploader has not made this video available in your country". Does one of the staff or another member have any insight as to why this is happening? Why would fight highlights not be available to me? If the sport is to be grown around the world I would think these videos should be available to all.
