The ninth event for World Series of Fighting will be headlined by two title fights.
WSOF announced that welterweight champion Steve Carl will put his title on the line against former UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares. In the co-main event, Marlon Moraes battles Josh Rettinghouse for the vacant bantamweight championship.
WSOF 9 takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 29.
Carl (21-3) returns to the cage five months after winning the 170-pound title with a fourth-round submission over Josh Burkman, earning his third straight finish under the WSOF banner. Palhares (15-5) makes his promotional debut following a controversial release from the UFC, after he held a submission too long in his quick win over Mike Pierce in October.
Moraes (12-4-1), one of the best bantamweights outside the UFC, is 4-0 inside the WSOF cage with victories over the likes of Carson Beebe, Tyson Nam and Miguel Torres. Rettinghouse (10-2) enters the cage riding a three-fight win streak, capped off by a decision over Bellator veteran Alexis Vila in his WSOF debut.
