A tactical round one was a stalemate, as Jabouin threw a high volume of strikes which often missed or were checked; While Wineland was content to utiltize his counterstriking and movement.
That changed in round two, as Wineland clubbed Jabouin with a pair of sharp right hands which altered the fight. He nearly finished the Tri Star fighter with an arm triangle, then followed up wit a big flurry of punches which finally ended the fight at 4:15 of the second.
"If was looking for it," Wineland (21-9-1) said of the fight-changing rights. "I stepped back and I pushed forward and finished the fight."
Wineland won for the third time in his past four fights, While Jabouin has dropped two of his past three.
"I didn't get off as early as I wanted to," said Wineland. "I wanted to fight on the ground, I proved it."
