Legacy Fighting Championship has signed another talented prospect from Brazil.
Undefeated with six first-round victories, Gilbert "Durinho" Burns has signed a multi-fight deal with Legacy FC, the promotion’s president Mick Maynard revealed to MMAFighting.com. "Durinho" is set to make his debut at Legacy FC 29, which takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, Oklq., on March 21, against WEC veteran Mike Budnik.
"Durinho" (6-0) made his MMA debut a year ago with a quick submission victory, and scored five straight finishes since. In his last appearance, Burns knocked out MMA veteran Paulo Goncalves Silva in Brazil. The grappling expert, who happens to be Vitor Belfort’s jiu-jitsu coach, has wins over the likes of Kron Gracie and JT Torres in jiu-jitsu competition.
Burnik (13-4) makes his Legacy FC debut after racking up five consecutive victories, including three submissions, and hasn’t lost since a five-round fight with UFC veteran Rich Clementi in 2010. "Wildfire" has competed four times inside the WEC cage between 2008 and 2009, but suffered three consecutive losses after defeating Greg McIntyre by way of submission.
