First time taking a crack at this Fan Post thing.
In regards to the UFC - The Ultimate Fighter recent seasons and international seasons.
I am a big fan of the show and how the seasons have evolved over the years, but the overall show has become stagnant and i think a lot of the fighters are not getting the recognition and exposure because the show isn't as popular as it once was. "my opinion"
I have an idea for the Ultimate Fighter World Cup, however i hope the UFC is heading in this direction already.
A mix between the ideas of Fifa World Cup and Best of the Best the movie.
Each Country should have their own team with 6 fighters:
- Light Heavyweight
- Bantamweight (Tie Break Round)
- Coaches - UFC Fighters (Example - Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier - Team USA & Michael Bisping, Dan Hardy - England Team UK)
Each team would move on based on points, submission or knockouts.
Countries will be places in Groups - Group A, B, C, D.
Events will take place over a period of 2 weeks or a year similar to BJJ tournaments and Kickboxing Tournaments, with countries battling each other
The Ultimate Fighter CUP will allow 20 - 60 fighters to try out and earn their shot to represent their country in the TUF Cup. Coaches will select their team of fighters and injury replacement fighters. Each country will air their team's training process and film their process as a Team and not a group of guys in the house competing with each other, if fighters are not up to par per the coaches, they can be replaced.
This allows fighters from each country to try out and represent their country. I know their might not be enough fighters out there yet, but after recent interest in Ireland and China, i think they are ready for this.
Winning team earns a contract with the UFC.
I would love to hear any comments on this. Maybe the fans can create this idea and have HELWANI NOSE PITCH IT.
